Soul legend Billy Henderson dies
[source: NME.com] The Spinners singer Billy Henderson has died in Florida, aged 67, following complications from diabetes.
The Spinners had a number of US hits, including "I'll Be Around", "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love", "Then You Came" and "The Rubberband Man". The band were nominated for six Grammy awards.
Henderson, who passed away on Friday February 2, was dismissed from the group in 2004 after suing the group's corporation and business manager to obtain financial records.

Guns N' Roses to play Africa
[source: NME.com] Guns N' Roses will play in Africa for the first time when they join Hoobastank and Evanescence at the My Coke Festival 2007 in Johannesburg on April 27.
They will also play Cape Town's Kenilworth Racecourse on Tuesday May 1.
The appearances come shortly after the projected release date for the long-awaited Chinese Democracy album (Tuesday March 6).
"This is not a promise, a lie or a guarantee, but we do wish to announce a tentative release date of March 6," singer Axl Rose posted on the band's official website recently.
Chinese Democracy represents the first album of original Gunners material since 1991's Use Your Illusion 1 and Use Your Illusion II.

P Diddy in legal fight over name
[source: NME.com] P. Diddy has been asked in court to remove his "Diddy" alias from websites after an earlier settlement with a musician known by the same name.
The rapper settled out of court with Richard "Diddy" Dearlove last year, agreeing not to use the name in the UK.
Dearlove's lawyer, Iain Purvis QC, told London's High Court on Friday February 2 that the rapper had made changes to two of his websites but "Diddy" was still used on others.
Purvis said the rapper, whose real name is Sean Combs, had refused to make changes to sites not under his control.
"We want him either to use a neutral name like P. Diddy or to shut them down," the lawyer said.
Dearlove said the rapper should do all he can to erase the "Diddy" moniker from sites like YouTube and MySpace.
"What we say is he has been given these undertakings and it is up to him to make sure they are complied with."
If the judge rules P Diddy has breached the agreement, Dearlove could seek damages, the BBC reported.

Kylie Minogue splits with Oliver Martinez
Despite describing him as "the most loyal man I've ever met", Aussie pop princess Kylie Minogue has confirmed she's split with French actor Olivier Martinez.
The 38-year-old singer issued a statement on the weekend confirming their separation, which comes amid rumours of Martinez's infidelity.
"They have made it clear that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable," a joint statement from the couple, which also stressed the pair remain close friends, read. It denied reports of a third party.
"The media's false accusations of disloyalty have saddened them both."

K-Fed apologises to food workers
In an amusing update to the career of soon-to-be former Mr Britney Spears, Kevin Federline has apologised to food industry workers who took offence at his spoof Super Bowl ad.
"The commercial is completely intended for me, making fun of myself and my own situation," the 28-year-old wannabe rapper said.
K-Fed filmed an advertisement parodying his own rise to fame for a US insurance company.
"It has nothing to do with anybody in the fast-food industry at all. So, you know, if we've offended anybody, I'm really sorry about that. [It's a] Saturday Night Live skit on myself. Maybe it'll land me some good roles in Hollywood!"
Meanwhile, Federline has reportedly rejected a AU$32 million divorce settlement with Spears that would have forced him to give up rights to the couple's two sons. It's rumoured he's holding out for a AU$65 million deal.
"I'm a good father," K-Fed insisted. "I love my kids and I'll always be here for them."

AC/DC and the Dutch mansion
What do you buy when you're one of the most successful musicians to ever emerge from Australia? A mansion in a Dutch village, of course.
Reclusive AC/DC guitarist Angus Young – whose wealth is estimated by Forbes magazine to be more than AU$161 million – is spending millions of dollars renovating a towering mansion in Aalten, Holland (a small town near the German border with a population of just 12,000).
The move has stirred up anger among his new neighbours, who've now agreed to keep their opinions private after several villagers spoke to UK newspapers.
Young's wife, Ellen, is from the region and told reporters at Aussie newspaper the Sunday Herald Sun to mind their own business.
"I don't want to talk to you about it. My husband is very private and this is nothing to do with you. We don't go to parties or red carpet events; we don't want attention."
Young already owns houses in England and Australia and continues to tour with his AC/DC bandmates.
