Atreyu recording fourth album
[source: NME.com] Atreyu are currently busy in Los Angeles working on their fourth, as yet unnamed, studio album.
The album, scheduled for a late winter release, is being produced by John Feldmann, the man previously responsible for records from Mest and Good Charlotte.
Frontman Alex Varkatzas said the band are excited to be working with Feldmann.
“I don’t want to give anything away, but we’re tossing around all kinds of ideas and leaving ourselves open to endless possibilities. We are going to challenge ourselves.”
Tracks from the new album are expected to be previewed on the Korn-led Family Values Tour 2007 in America.

“We’re working on new songs and getting lost in the music," The Edge told Rolling Stone.
"I don’t think we’re going to try and think too much about what we’re going to do with it yet; we’re just going to do a lot of writing and see what gives.
“We’re giving ourselves the luxury of just working on the songs. There’s some amazing things coming through.”

Jeff Buckley: yet another compilation
Golden-voiced American singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley has released more music following his death than he did when he was alive.

To mark the tenth anniversary of his death, the first "official anthology” of Buckley’s work will be released. So Real: Songs From Jeff Buckley will include two rarities, an acoustic version of the title track as well as a live cover of The Smith’s “I Know It’s Over”.
“In these 14, definitive performances of his finest original songs and signature covers,” writes Rolling Stone’s David Fricke in the liner notes, “what you hear is the bold ambition, serious work ethic and glorious achievement of a very full life – a legacy that still grows a decade after his passing.”
So Real: Songs From Jeff Buckley tracklisting:
“Last Goodbye”
“Lover You Should Have Come Over”
“Forget Her”
“Eternal Life (Road Version)”

Hilary Duff’s broken heart
Love can break your heart, but, as singing actress Hilary Duff found out, it can also ruin your album.
After being dumped by boyfriend Joel Madden (Good Charlotte) at the end of 2006, Duff considered trashing her almost-completed LP because all the songs were about being in love with him. A few new, not-so-happy songs were quickly written.
“There are some songs about being in love and it being great, and songs about it not feeling as good,” Duff said of her latest LP, Dignity.
“It made me nervous at first, because I thought, ‘I wrote these songs and I want to use them for my record and I can’t’. Then I was like, ‘Wait, I can. It’s a personal journey’.”
Madden is now dating socialite Nicole Ritchie.

Paul Weller: not a Police fan
UK songsmith Paul Weller – the former mod leader of rockers The Jam and Style Council – has offered old sparring partner Sting a hard-to-miss insult.
Heading to his seat at the Royal Albert Hall last week for a charity comedy show, Weller came across a portrait of the Police frontman hanging on the wall. The 48-year-old rocker reportedly spat at the picture before walking off, muttering “f**king tit” under his breath.
