Mike Skinner out of New York marathon
[source: NME.com] The Streets frontman Mike Skinner has pulled out of the New York marathon after tearing a muscle.
The star admitted on his band's MySpace page he was "gutted" at not being able to take part.
"I can't f##king believe it," he said. "I've torn a muscle and I can't run in New York this weekend. Typical. [I've] been training for months and the first time I hurt myself is a week before the race!
"I'm going to have to rest up and get good on the new Scarface game before I can run again. Bollocks."

Snoop Dogg charged with dangerous weapon possession
[source: NME.com] Rapper Snoop Dogg has been charged with one felony count of knowingly possessing a dangerous weapon.
The star was arrested in September at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, after allegedly trying to board a plane while carrying a 21-inch collapsible police baton in a computer case.
If convicted, Snoop faces a maximum of three years in prison, Hollywood News reported.
Last month, the rapper, whose bail was set at $150,000, was also arrested at California's Bob Hope Airport on suspicion of possessing marijuana and a handgun, according to police reports.
Snoop was freed from custody on a $35,000 bail bond, but will appear in Los Angeles Superior Court on that charge on Tuesday December 12.

Oasis and Paul Weller jam together
[source: NME.com] Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller joined forces onstage at a charity gig in London last week.
Gallagher, watched by brother Liam and backed by two bandmates, was joined by the former Jam frontman at KOKO for a show in aid of drugs charity Focus.
Together they performed Weller's 2005 single "Come On/Let's Go", as well as "Thick As Thieves", a Jam classic from 1979's Setting Sons album. Noel also covered The Beatles' 1967 classic "Strawberry Fields Forever".
Comedian Russell Brand, who organised the night, acted as MC and introduced opening act The Holloways and then Dirty Pretty Things, who stood in for the absent Kasabian.
The latter had to cancel their appearance after guitarist Serge Pizzorno came down with laryngitis, or, as Noel put it onstage while dedicating "Cast No Shadow" to him, "something pretentious like that".
Dirty Pretty Things were joined by Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess, who sang with Carl Barat on "Deadwood" and "Bang Bang You're Dead", as well as his own group's 1997 hit, "North Country Boy".
Noel, who was playing acoustically (with Oasis bandmate Gem Archer on electric guitar), played a set that included Oasis favourites "Wonderwall", "Don't Look Back In Anger" and 'Slide Away', plus rarely performed B-sides "Fade Away", "Listen Up" and set opener "(It's Good) To Be Free".
Noel will repeat the acoustic performance when he plays another sold-out show at the Union Chapel in London on Sunday November 26 as part of the Little Noise gigs in aid of charity Mencap.

Paul McCartney holds no grudge
Paul McCartney told BBC radio he holds no grudges over the breakdown of his marriage to Heather Millls. He did, however, remain tight-lipped over the relationship's finer details.
"There are certain things in life that are personal and I think a relationship with a partner is intensely personal, and I prefer to keep it that way," he said in an interview with BBC radio on the weekend.
The couple are currently locked in legal proceedings, which includes a fight for custody of their three-year-old daughter, Beatrice.
"Life goes on [and] I do not hold grudges against anyone. I don't blame anyone for the sadness that has happened to me.
"I am sad because it would be stupid to be otherwise," he revealed. "I think life goes on, and it is what you make of it, so I am pretty optimistic."

Elton John wants out
Unhappy with the way Universal Music has marketed new album The Captain And The Kid, English pop legend Sir Elton John blasted the label from the stage last week.
"Nobody would know the album has been out since September," he ranted while performing in New York. "My record label isn't doing anything to help. F##k Universal. Please drop me. I'm 58 and I don't care anymore."
There's been no response from Universal. No doubt they're used to Sir Elton's outbursts!

K-Fed puts son's name to bed
In New York last week drumming up publicity for solo album Playing With Fire, Kevin Federline – aka K-Fed, husband of Britney Spears – spoke out about the secrecy surrounding the name of the couple's second child.
Spears gave birth to son Jayden James back in mid-September, but initial reports suggested he was christened Sutton Pierce. The name change was only made public when the parents filed his birth certificate in late October.
"It's the first time I've ever really sat down and talked to somebody about it," Federline told MTV. "We didn't make the name [Sutton Pierce] up – that's the media for you. They try to capture all that and get people interested in our life, so I figured they made the name up to go with one of their stories, and it blew up everywhere. It was funny. It almost proves a point: they don't really know everything like they seem to think they do, you know?"

Kylie Minogue's cancer support
With her comeback performance due in less than a week, Aussie pop princess Kylie Minogue has spoken of boyfriend Oliver Martinez's support and dismissed rumours claiming the couple are in trouble.
"He's the most honourable man I have ever met," Minogue told Britain's Daily Star newspaper. "He's surprising. On particularly dark days I'd be lying on the bathroom floor, wailing, and he'd say, 'Okay honey, you can cry for just five minutes, then I'm taking you on a bike ride around Paris'."
Minogue went on to liken chemotherapy to being in an atomic explosion.
"I don't think anyone who hasn't had it can understand it," she said.
The Showgirl tour resumes on Saturday November 11 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
