Oasis and The Smiths in rock map of UK
[source: NME.com] Oasis and The Smiths are just two bands featured on a specially devised "rock map" of the UK.
The map, produced by tourism company VisitBritain, features locations around England that hold special musical significance.
VisitBritain general manager Laurence Bresh said there was huge interest in locations connected to popular culture.
"Everybody knows about tourists going to Liverpool to visit The Beatles locations, but it's much wider than that," Bresh said.
"People like to see the places that have inspired musicians. Oasis is the obvious one – Berwick Street [in Soho, London], where they shot the cover for (What's The Story) Morning Glory."
Salford Lads Club, where The Smiths posed for the inside cover of The Queen Is Dead, is also featured, as well as infamous Britpop pub The Good Mixer in Camden.

Coldplay dismiss Glastonbury rumours
[source: NME.com] Coldplay have quelled rumours linking them to a headlining set at Glastonbury this year.

Meanwhile, the band will release a comprehensive vinyl singles box-set on Monday March 26 and are currently working with producer Brian Eno on new material.

Eminem leads ex to suicide?
Twice married to her childhood sweetheart, Kim Mathers – the former wife of US rapper Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) – says his music led her to attempt suicide.
Speaking about controversial murder track "Kim", Mathers said it totally devastated her.
"I was embarrassed. I was humiliated. I cried," she revealed earlier this week. "He's supposed to be the man that loves me and protects me and here he is completely and totally disrespecting me in the worst way possible in front of millions of people. And in front of our kids, my family and my friends."
According to Kim, the rapper also promised her he wouldn't perform the song during a hometown concert in 2000.
"Sure enough, he decided to do that song and not only perform it but use a blow-up doll to re-enact me being choked," Kim revealed. "I couldn't take it. I made it home, went upstairs to my bathroom and I slit my wrists and ended up in the hospital."

Madonna renews vows
Pop queen Madonna and her English director husband, Guy Ritchie, have reportedly signed a "love pact" after spending weeks in relationship counselling.
The pair have agreed to make spending time together with their children – ten-year-old Lourdes, six-year-old Rocco and 17-month-old David (who was adopted in 2006 amid a sea of controversy) – a priority.
The couple have been married for six years and are currently looking for a new family home in New York.
"They have both worked really hard at their marriage issues and come to a new understanding," a source told UK paper The People.
"They have each accepted their own part in the problems they had been experiencing and are determined not to let anything come between them again. It's a fresh start and they actually look like a pair of newlyweds again."

Jessica Simpson: hurt by Nick's new love
US pop singer Jessica Simpson might have a new man in her life – singer-songwriter John Mayer – but the 26-year-old has spoken of the pain she felt when ex-husband Nick Lachey began dating so soon after their break-up.
"Oh, it hurt me," Simpson told Elle magazine. "Two or three weeks later? Yeah, I'd say it kind of hurt me."
The couple starred in the reality TV show Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica, and were married in 2002 before Simpson filed for divorce in December 2005.
It was a viewing of romantic flick The Notebook while on a plane from Texas that inspired Simpson to make the break.
"I just figured out the [film's] statement," she said. "It was about that moment of desperation. I needed to breathe."
But despite the split, Simpson said they still keep in touch.
"He's so much a part of my life. Any guy that's going to be with me from this day forward has to understand that."
