New James Brown children discovered
[source: NME.com] The battle for late soul legend James Brown's estate is set to intensify as DNA testing on about a dozen people claiming he was their father revealed at least two of them were telling the truth.
Brown died on Christmas Day last year after being admitted to hospital with severe pneumonia. His will, which is being disputed in court, names six children.
Buddy Dallas, a former adviser to the "Sex Machine" singer, said he could not confirm exact figures of new children as further test results were forthcoming.
He also refused to name any of the star's newly-discovered offspring, but a South Carolina newspaper reported LaRhonda Petitt, a 45-year-old teacher, was one of them. Petitt showed The Augusta Chronicle a document that said there was a 99 per cent probability she was Brown's daughter.
She claimed the singer picked her mother out of the audience during a Los Angeles concert in the early 60s and the couple began a relationship.
They broke up when her mother fell pregnant and moved to Houston, she told the paper.
According to Petitt's lawyer, Jim Griffin, Petitt's claim to Brown's estate depends on whether his will holds up. But Petitt's two daughters should at least be eligible for a trust the musician set up to pay for his grandchildren's education, he added.

Madonna adoption hits a snag
Pop icon Madonna has hit a snag in her adoption of David Banda, the child she's hoping to make her official son after meeting him in the African country of Malawi.
Together with husband and film director Guy Ritchie, Madge has been seeking custody of the two-year-old, who now lives with the couple in London, since October 2006.
Now, adoption rights organisations say the Malawi government needs international help to monitor the child's welfare. Malawi's Child Welfare Services Director Penston Kilembe said the agency is unable to travel to the UK to check on David, having already missed a visit in May due to poor finances.
"We have been unable to travel because of logistical problems," Kilembe admitted. "You know it requires some resources for me to travel."
Malawi adoption laws require Madonna to undergo up to two years' monitoring until she is allowed to officially adopt her son.
"We have reservations about Malawi's ability to oversee the Madonna adoption on its own," humanitarian group Eye Of The Child spokesman Maxwell Matewere said.
"We are a little worried about whether Kilembe is competent enough to assess the UK environment and to make a fair conclusion on the whole process."

Allen's tour manager refuted the claim but did say the photographer "was jumping all over everyone".
"He was really in her face. He was asked by two tour managers to back off, and then he was yelling stuff out. No one kicked anyone."
Meanwhile, Allen revealed she's working on new tracks for the follow-up to Alright, Still.

American r&b star Usher has finally wed his pregnant fiancée, Tameka Foster, in Atlanta, Georgia.

The original union was due to take place at music mogul Antonio "LA" Reid's mansion, but the couple decided to keep things low-key, opting instead to get hitched at the office of Usher's lawyer.

Keith Richards: so wasted, he's off the stage
Legendary Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards almost fell six metres off the stage at a gig in Helsinki, Finland, on Wednesday August 1.
According to a report in UK paper The Sun, the 63-year-old drunkenly wobbled to the edge of the stage during a rowdy rendition of "Honky Tonk Woman", only to be pulled back by bandmate Mick Jagger.
"Mick and Ronnie [Wood] didn't look too pleased," fan Paul Clark said.
"Mick, at one point, had to hold on to Keith to stop him falling off the stage. And at another point he stumbled sideways and if it wasn't for the rail he'd have fallen 20 feet into the crowd. The roadies held him up while they strapped his guitar on him. His guitar work was all over the place. Mick was brilliant and he held the show together."
