Noel says no to Ashes
Despite being a self-confessed cricket fanatic, Oasis songwriter/guitarist Noel Gallagher declined an offer of free tickets to the Ashes.
In the country last week to promote the band's Stop The Clocks best-of set, Gallagher turned down the chance to catch England’s cricket team in action. It seems he was convinced they’d lose anyway.
“I couldn’t be bothered hanging around to watch them get beaten again,” Noel said.

Juggling 15 all-new tracks around. Testing sequences. No leftovers from With Teeth. Highly conceptual. Quite noisy. F***ing cool.”

Black Eyed Peas get down to more Monkey Business
With several Grammy nominations to their name, LA hip-hop/pop outfit Black Eyed Peas are already hard at work on a brand new longplayer.
The follow-up to 2005’s four-million-selling Monkey Business is, according to frontman will.i.am, “almost” done”, but the LP isn’t set to be released until late 2007.
“We have 12 songs,” will.i.am told industry mag Billboard, “and we’ll probably do another 30 or 40.”
The Peas have been recording while on tour, which included a brief visit to China. will.i.am says the new tracks sound “fun”, but still deal with heavy issues. “It’s not, ‘Oh, everything messed up! Oh my gosh, we’re doomed’,”, he said. “It’s a thinking record. It brings up what’s happening in the world. Monkey Business didn’t do that.”

Kylie spends Christmas in Paris
Despite rumours suggesting she’d spend Christmas in Melbourne, pop princess Kylie Minogue has returned to Paris amid speculation her relationship with actor Oliver Martinez is in trouble.
Less than 12 hours after completing the final leg of her Showgirl tour, Minogue was on a plane to Europe. Last week, younger sister Danni told reporters the family were intending on spending the holidays together:
“We know how lucky we are to be together this Christmas,” she said.
A representative for Minogue said the singer’s schedule for an upcoming New Year’s Eve show at London’s Wembley Arena changed, hence the sudden return. The UK media have claimed Martinez has been in a tryst with 24-year-old model Sarai Givati.
