Amy Winehouse hospitalised
[source: NME.com] Amy Winehouse was hospitalised in London on Wednesday, suffering from "severe exhaustion".
The singer's hospitalisation follows back-to-back performances at two US festivals this past weekend – the Virgin Festival in Baltimore and Lollapalooza in Chicago, where she gave an uncharacteristically lifeless performance.
Winehouse was released from hospital on Thursday and advised to "take complete rest", according to Associated Press.
As a result, she has had to cancel her performances in Norway and Denmark.

Pete Doherty on life after court
[source: NME.com] Pete Doherty has told NME.COM he is now banned from London after his appearance in court on Tuesday August 7.
The singer's sentencing for possession of Class A drugs has been postponed for a month while he continues rehab. However, one of the conditions set by West London Magistrates Court is that the Babyshambles man should stay with a family while he tries to quit drugs, and this has effectively left the singer homeless.
"I can't stay with my mum, not while she's with my dad. I'm not quite sure where I'm staying," Doherty explained. "Are there any NME readers outside London who want to put me up?"
Doherty added: "Babyshambles are going to have to decamp to the sticks for a while."
Meanwhile, Babyshambles guitarist Mick Whitnall, who attended court with his bandmate, added: "We didn't know what to expect so it's a bit of a relief."
Despite the restrictions and rehab Doherty must now undertake, the court did give him permission to play the Festival Heineken Paredes de Coura in Portugal on Sunday August 12 and both legs of the V Festival on Saturday August 18 and 19.

"Because he is contracted to an Australian label and I've got a British one, we live in different countries," Imbruglia revealed. "That might seem strange, but it's actually great. The heart knows no geography after all."
Imbruglia has recently released a new track, "Glorious", from her latest best-of release, Glorious: The Singles Collection 97–07.

Lily Allen banned from the US?
British pop singer Lily Allen, who was in Oz for last weekend's Splendour In The Grass festival, is in trouble after her work visa for an upcoming visit to the States was cancelled.
The 22-year-old "Smile" singer is set to begin a national trek across the US in early September but was detained at a Los Angeles airport this week as she tried to enter the country to perform a promotional show in Las Vegas.
"I am trying everything I can to sort this out," Allen told UK newspaper the Daily Mirror.
"It is my intention to play my American dates in September. This depends on the authorities granting me a new work visa. I want my fans to know that I will do everything I can to be back in America in September. I don't like letting my fans down and this is a situation that I am sure we can sort." Allen's manager, Neale Easterby, claimed the media have beefed up the situation.
"It's rubbish. There's no story; it's all good," Easterby told Billboard.com. "She's in Las Vegas right now and she will be there until Thursday shooting a video with Common and Kanye West for Common's track "Drivin' Me Wild". The problems stem from Allen's arrest back in June for alleged assault.

"She's a role model for so many young people," a source for American Express has revealed.
"She has tremendous crossover appeal, the same way Tiger does. She's an inspiration for lots of people. She's a great fit for American Express."

Hip-hop giants go head to head
Two of the biggest hip-hop stars in America – 50 Cent and Kanye West – are set to debate each other on national television, following a growing publicity battle over news that both their new albums will be released on the same day.
Tuesday September 11 is the date that West will unleash his latest opus, Graduation, while 50 Cent will be battling it out at the top of the charts with his own Curtis. An appearance on US radio station BET's 106 & Park last week saw West urging his nemesis to a televised debate – a challenge that, says Yahoo.com, Fiddy has accepted.
"I accept the challenge," 50 Cent was quoted as saying.
"Kanye, is not going to want to show up. Just don't be asking me if I am a conscious rapper. I know exactly what I am saying - so I am conscious."
