R Kelly trial delayed once more
[source: NME.com] R Kelly's child pornography trial has been delayed once more.
Charges were originally brought against the rapper in 2002 for allegedly videotaping sex acts with an underage girl. The trial was delayed several times but was finally set to begin on Monday 17 September.
Now, according to Associated Press, a judge from Cook County, Illinois has postponed the trial because the lead prosecutor recently had a baby.
Cook County prosecutors charged Kelly with several counts of child pornography but the rapper pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Klaxons win Mercury Music Prize
[source: NME.com] Klaxons have spoken to NME.COM after winning the Nationwide Mercury Music Prize on Tuesday.
The band scooped the award for debut album Myths Of the Near Future and admitted they were surprised to win.
"I've never felt this way in my life. This is shock beyond any kind of shock I've ever experienced," James Righton said. "We hoped we'd win it but we really thought Amy Winehouse or Bat For Lashes would win it.
"To win this is beyond and above any expectation we ever had. We thought we made a really strong record and we wanted to win. But realistically we heard everyone talking, we heard what people were saying and we didn't think we would win."

Bob Dylan gives blessing to film on his life
[source: NME.com] Bob Dylan has given his blessing to I'm Not There, a forthcoming film about his life.
According to director Todd Haynes, this is the first time the legendary songwriter has ever given a film his blessing.
Speaking at the Venice Film Festival where the film premiered on Tuesday, Haynes explained why, in his opinion, Dylan was so supportive.
"I do think it was because of this open structure, something that we keep expanding through the years," Haynes told Associated Press. "And because of that Bob thought, 'Okay, this may be the one thing I'll say yes to.'"
I'm Not There is due out in the US later this year and features seven different actors portraying Dylan, including Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger and Richard Gere. Each actor is meant to embody a different aspect of the legendary musician's life and work.

Official sacked from Madonna adoption case
[source: NME.com] A Malawian child welfare officer has been taken off the Madonna adoption case after it emerged he asked for money from the singer.
Penstone Kilembe, director of Malawi's Child Welfare Services, was overseeing the adoption of David Banda and was due to fly to London make an assessment of the case. But Kilembe allegedly asked the pop star for money for the trip.
The Malawian government went to court last week to seek removal of Kilembe from the case, with Simon Chisale, the country's chief social welfare officer, taking over the assessment.
Meanwhile, Kilembe returned from a conference in the US on Monday and claimed he was not aware of the recent developments.
"I am not aware of these developments. I have just arrived from New York and nobody from my office has told me anything. I will be in the office tomorrow," he told Associated Press.
Madonna adopted David Banda almost a year ago when he was 13 months old and was accused of using her celebrity status to fast-track the adoption process.

Aerosmith back in the studio
US stadium rockers Aerosmith are heading back to the studio this November to begin work on the follow-up to 2004's Honkin' On Bobo.
According to guitarist Joe Perry, the band don't know who they'll work with.
"I'm not sure who the producer is gonna be or what studio we're gonna do it in," Perry told Billboard.com.
"We may use a few different producers. I don't know. All I know is that the heart and soul of the thing is us getting in the studio and seeing what comes out."
The album is tentatively scheduled for a March release, and Perry said there's plenty of material to work on.
"I'd like to have songs that the band can play live [without] needing to have a bunch of overdubs," he said. "That's the icing on the cake. The cake is good songs, and that's what we're gonna be shooting for."

Will.I.Am says new LP is all about the ex
Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am has revealed his new solo album is all about his ex-girlfriend.
According to the rapper, the tracks on Songs About Girls were all inspired by a break-up he went through four years ago.
"It broke my heart that I had broken her heart," the 32-year-old said. "I was young and I did destructive things."
How will his ex feel when she learns the new record is about her?
"She'll deal with it," will.i.am shrugged.
Songs About Girls is due out Tuesday 25 September.

Kaiser Chiefs label Pink a j"oke"
UK rockers Kaiser Chiefs – who were recently in Australia to perform at the annual Splendour In The Grass festival – have tagged pop star Pink "idiotic".
In an interview with The Sun, Chiefs bassist Simon Rix reckons the "Stupid Girl" singer is "just crap".
"Fact is, Pink stinks," he said. "Take a look at that song 'Dear Mr President'. It's just terrible. The lyrics are idiotic."
Pink's latest single takes a swipe at US President George Bush and contains lyrics like, "Dear Mr President, were you a lonely boy?".
