Underworld star injured at Athens festival
[source: NME.com] Underworld were forced to cancel their set at the Ejekt Festival in Greece on Saturday June 16 due to a riot caused by masked individuals.
According to a statement issued by the band, Underworld's Rick Smith was injured when 30 masked anarchists armed with CS gas, iron bars and baseball bats stormed the stadium while Beastie Boys were performing.
The rioters burned vehicles, damaged property and injured several people, causing the stadium to be evacuated.
Smith, who was taken to a nearby Athens hospital along with other injured people, has since returned to the UK for further treatment.

Michael Jackson blames family for money woes
Michael Jackson has hit back at claims his financial troubles are the result of outlandish spending sprees.
In a legal deposition written by the singer and obtained by American newspaper NY Daily News, Jackson said his cash problems are actually a result of his money-hungry family and friends.
"It's full of sharks, charlatans and impostors," he wrote about the music industry. "Because there's a lot of money involved, there's a bunch of schmucks in there."
Recalling a deal with his brother Randy and a mutual friend, Jackson said he was almost swindled out of millions.
"I vehemently told them, 'No, I am not signing this'. And I just remember how angry… the intensity of the anger in the room. And so they marched out."

George Michael's having a laugh
Ricky Gervais has reportedly convinced pop singer George Michael to appear in the season finalé of Extras.
The former Wham! singer – who has undergone legal troubles lately due to arrests over drugs – has reportedly agreed to feature in 2007's last episode.
"I have got a bottle of champagne in the fridge and, beat this, it's from George Michael," Gervais admitted to reporters a few weeks back.
"He gave me it after I supposedly called him a bender at an awards ceremony, if you believe what you read in the press. It was actually part of a joke that I ran by him first that he loved.
The Daily Star claim Michael immediately agreed to appear on Extras.

Oasis head into the studio
Controversial Brit rockers Oasis are heading back into the studio, although fans shouldn't expect a new album any time soon.
According to chief songwriter and guitarist Noel Gallagher, Oasis will enter the studio on Wednesday July 3.
"The songs are written," Gallagher said, "but don't hold your breath. The last album took three-and-a-half years and three attempts. It would be great if it was done by the end of the year and we could get out on the road by next summer, but that's insane wishful thinking."
