Kanye West thrills at Emmy party
[source: NME.com] Kanye West was the highlight of a post Emmy Awards bash held at Hollywood's Les Deux on Sunday 16 September.
A celebrity-filled audience rushed the stage when the rapper began his set, which included 2005 hit "Gold Digger" and saw West jump on top of giant speakers. He worked up the crowd, getting them to shout "Hell yeah!" and "Kan-ye!", according to Associated Press.
Earlier in the evening, West appeared in a short skit on the Emmy Awards with actor Rainn Wilson, where he spoofed himself and made fun of the fact that he went home from last week's MTV Video Music Awards empty-handed.

Arctic Monkeys attacked by bedbugs
[source: NME.com] Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner and The Rascals singer Miles Kane were joined by unwelcome visitors on a farm in France recently.
Kane explained the pair were surprised to uncover an army of bedbugs when they settled down for the first night in their new home.
"There were loads of animals outside – it was a proper farm and the fella who runs it used to cook our tea every night.
"Al [Turner] and I shared a massive room with six little beds," Kane told the Liverpool Echo, "and they all had fleas and bedbugs. I would move beds every night but they still found me.
"I had loads of bites on my ankles. Maybe I've got sweet blood," he joked.
As previously revealed on NME.COM, the duo are currently recording under the name Turner And Kane and an album should be out sometime in 2008, after The Rascals release their debut album.

Dave Grohl finally opens up about Courtney Love
[source: NME.com] Dave Grohl has finally spoken about his heartbreak over Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's rocky relationship with Courtney Love.
In an interview with The Guardian, the Foo Fighters singer addressed rumours the band's "Let It Die" is about the infamous couple.
The lyrics depicting "a simple man and his blushing bride, intravenous, intertwined" have already courted controversy, with many listeners assuming the lines refer to Cobain and Love.
Addressing the claims, Grohl explained the song was "written about feeling helpless to someone else's demise".
Speaking directly about Cobain and Love, he said: "I've seen people lose it all to drugs and heartbreak and death. It's happened more than once in my life, but the one that's most noted is Kurt."
The new Foo Fighters album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, is set for release on Tuesday 25 September.

Johnny Cash is not a criminal, says Starkville
He might have passed away, but US country music legend Johnny Cash is set to have his name cleared next month during the Johnny Cash Flower Pickin' Festival.
Back in May 1965, the "Walk The Line" singer was arrested in the Mississippi town of Starkville and locked up for 24 hours after he took flowers from a local resident's garden without permission.
"I was screaming, cussing and kicking at the cell door all night long until I finally broke my big toe," Cash later wrote of his night in the can.
"At 8am the next morning they let me out when they knew I was sober."
The festival, which took two years to get up and running and will see Cash officially pardoned for the crime, has been organised by music writer Robert Ward.

Seal to release System album
London-born singer Seal will release new album System in November.
It's the first release since 2003's Seal IV, and album number five for the "Crazy" singer.
"It's a "return to my roots," Seal said. "I wanted to go back to the guitar, to the very first instrument I wrote 'Crazy' and 'Killer' on, and get back to the fundamentals of what I really love to do."
Seal claims the LP is inspired by wife and supermodel Heidi Klum.
"Family, my wife and children, that's my reason for being," he admitted. "Everything is done with them in mind, so perhaps that's the reason this new album is up-tempo. That's why the album is called System. It's saying that against the odds, we have chosen to take control of our emotional system."

System tracklisting:

"Swoosh"
"Amazing"
"Just Like Before"
"Loaded"
"Wedding Day"
"System"
"Silence"
"The Right Life"
"Rolling"
"Immaculate"

"I'd really like to perform on the same stage as the Spice Girls," Lopez said. "Even before we were friends, Posh was always my favourite."
Meanwhile, the five-piece are rumoured to be undertaking a not-so-secret warm-up show at London's Astoria in November, before their world tour begins.

Tori Amos lends Britney a helping hand
Tori Amos and Britney Spears are an unlikely pairing: one's a kooky redhead renowned for performing in character, the other's a pop starlet with a lot on her plate.
Currently in Australia on her American Doll Posse tour, singer-songwriter Amos has spoken out in support of Britney Spears… by including her in song.
Hitting the stage in Melbourne last week, Amos was mid-song when she told the crowd Britney "needed a mother to pick her up".
"Britney, they set you up, but you drank from their cup," Amos's lyrics read. "Britney, they set you up, oh, but this is what it looks like, love. This is what is looks like when a star falls down, when a star falls down."

Pete Doherty pens song for Amy Winehouse
Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty has allegedly written a song called "Amy On The Med" for troubled star Amy Winehouse.
According to reports, the song's lyrics purport to show a bit of understanding for the "Rehab" singer's recent drug battles.
"Amy on the mend," Doherty sings, "all that passion to spend, like a paper Boadicea in a battle to the end, end, end."
Doherty, former boyfriend to model Kate Moss, is currently undergoing a rehab stint and sent Winehouse the song in a frame with the message: "Love, Pete".
Don't expect Winehouse to go into treatment anytime soon.
"I didn't enjoy rehab," she recently confessed. "I don't want to go back. I missed my friends and my mum and dad. They are the ones that are there for me. I have been doing better now and that's because of my friends."
